Filmlance has Fallen for a Second Season of Camilla Ahlgren’s Hit TV4 Crime Drama

In Production Tv Series

Fallen, the hit crime drama from award-winning Swedish label, Filmlance, has been ordered for a second season on TV4. Globally distributed by Banijay Rights, the emotionally-driven series has sold to markets including France, Australia and the US. Sofia Helin reprises her role as Iris Broman.

Created and written by Camilla Ahlgren, the screenwriter behind iconic series The Bridge, along with Martin Asphaug and Alex Haridi, the drama once again stars Sofia Helin (The Bridge, Lust, Emmy winner Atlantic Crossing).

In the upcoming season, Iris Broman (played by Sofia Helin) becomes increasingly comfortable in Malmö leading the cold case team. A fresh case, where a body is found buried outside a mansion in Ystad, and another which is being tracked by documentary-makers, could potentially be connected. Meanwhile, just as the investigation is gaining momentum, Iris receives a message, with unexpected consequences from her former colleague Adam in Stockholm.

Sofia Helin says: “I am so happy about the fact that so many people appreciated our series! I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to portray Iris again and give the audience the continuation of this story.”

Hanne Palmquist, MD Filmlance, says: “Fallen is a brilliant example of a new type of crime drama coming out of Sweden which is garnering international interest. Camilla Ahlgren has created an intriguing world with tender characters, and this, paired with the acting talent of Sofia Helin, makes for a premium drama for local audiences and beyond.”

Fallen is produced by Filmlance’s Sigrid Nordenhake and Anna Wallmark, and Lisa Dahlberg serves as executive producer at TV4. The directors are Johan Lundin and Linn Mannheimer.  Fallen is a co-production between TV4, ZDF, Film i Skåne, and Filmlance.
