Beck 1 – Decoy Boy – A man working at a garbage incinerator watches the body of a dead man burned to ashes in the oven. Police detective Martin Beck handles the case. All he knows is that a brutal murder has happened. But he does not know when or where. He has no body, motive or a crime scene, not a single trace. All he has is some teeth and a mysterious Internet address…

Beck 2 – The man with the icons – Beck finds himself at odds with the intelligence service as he investigates a case involving a local Russian Undertaker. As Beck gets closer to the truth he realises that what began as a small case now includes wife-killing and smuggling with links to a foreign power that will do anything to keep their secrets buried.

Beck 3 – White nights – White Nights, slang for Stockholm’s underground rave parties, the drugs for these parties are smuggled into the country by truck from Poland. Under pressure from the drug squad the truck driver leads them to the Swedish dealer. When the driver is killed in a shoot-out it turns out he is Beck’s son, whom he’s not seen since his divorce, when the boy was just an infant. Beck’s world crumbles around him, his work now seems meaningless and he falls apart. After an enforced break he returns to work determined to bring justice for his son.

Beck 4 – Serial killer – In a quiet village, behind the white fences and tidy gardens, a terrible secret remains buried under a wall of silence. Long ago the young captain of the local football team raped a shy foster child whilst six of her “friends” stood by and did nothing to help. No one talked of the crime or backed up her story. Forced to have an abortion she fled the village in shame. Decades later the victim returns, and now she has her own plans for justice…

Beck 5 – The Pearl Hotel – With the promise of a new life illegal immigrants are ready to risk everything for ruthless criminals by smuggling deadly liquid metals taped to their bodies into the country. Gunvald accidentally runs down a little girl linked to the trade. This makes the Beck group realise, that their investigation of a series of explosions at the ferry terminal and the young girl’s death are connected.

Beck 6 – The Monster – A bomb threat at a Stockholm police station gives 7 minutes to evacuate before detonation. The bomb squad’s robot shoots the suitcase bomb. However as it turns out the suitcase didn’t contain a bomb but an infant child. Shocked by the cruelty the Beck group tries to keep the death a secret. The killer has other plans. Shortly afterwards, all the newspapers in the country receive e-mail messages telling of “the infant whom the police shot to pieces”. When Beck finds the infants’ mother lying in the forest with her head crushed, he also finds clues that lead him to the monster. But is he tracking the right man?

Beck 7 – The Money Man – For years Beck’s arch enemy Gavling – the kingpin of Stockholm’s underworld – has been blackmailing a top police officer who’s kept his homosexuality a secret. In return for Gavling’s silence he is supplied with top secret information from the national police archives. When the officer tries to break free of Gavling’s grip and later is found dead in a public park, Beck swears he will bring the criminal to justice once and for all.

Beck 8 – Subway kids – A series of murders on the Stockholm Subway has filled the city with fear. Beck’s theory that one killer is behind the terror failed when 3 commuters at different stations are killed simultaneously. Taken off the case Beck continues his investigation alone. He discovers a gang of computer freaks – the subway kids – who’ve turned the subway into a hellish game where the commuters are targets. The gang attack Beck who only narrowly escapes death. Whilst Beck is recovering in hospital the Subway Kids prepare the ultimate attack. The countdown has begun.
