Filmlance International, one of Sweden’s largest independent production companies, has produced award-winning, high-end feature films and television for a worldwide audience since its launch in 1988. Filmlance’s filmography of more than 100 titles includes audience-beloved and critically acclaimed feature films, animated children’s films, TV movies, TV series and short films.
Filmlance is the proud producer of the international hit series ”Bron/Broen” which has multiple awards to its credit and a fourth season upcoming. “Bron/Broen” has been sold to more than 178 countries and its two remakes “The Tunnel” (Kudos, France/UK) and “The Bridge” (Shine America, USA/Mexico), have both enjoyed tremendous worldwide success. A Russian version is also currently being produced (Weit Media, Russia/Estonia).
Since its inception, Filmlance has been engaged in children and youth films. We have had a long-standing collaboration with Per Åhlin & PennFilm Studios on the “Laban the Little Ghost” films and “Little Anna & the Tall Uncle,” as well as with Saltkråkan & Bildmakarna Berg, in breathing new life into Astrid Lindgrin’s classic story of “Emil in Lönneberga.”
On New Year’s Day 2018, ”The Bridge IIII” will premiere on SVT (Swedish Television). Four new ”Beck” films (C-more/TV4), a second season of Cilla & Rolf Börjlind’s ”Spring Tide” (SVT) and new films in “The Sandhamn Murders” series (C-more/TV4) will also air in 2018. In October/November 2017, season three of “Boobs to the Wall” will air on SVT.
Filmlance is currently developing a TV series based on Fredrik Backman’s celebrated novel ”Beartown,” and a new TV series from Jens Lapidus, the writer behind the “Easy Money” trilogy, which seeks to inspire a new era of the Nordic Noir genre. We also have several exciting original stories in development.
Filmlance has 24 employees and is a part of The Endemol Shine Group.
